Welcome!

burlap

as of late, i have had what one might call a "little obsession" with the burlap sack. i have framed one that has a beautiful logo of a costa rican coffee company, i have recovered a seat with some and my newest project is to figure out how to sew a pillow case with one. of course it would be ideal for me to be able to completely cover a chair/sofa in it as well, but i think that is a task way out of my hands...at least when i see photos like these.

my dear friend kelli pointed out this wonderful post on remodelista. It pretty much defines my heaven. how gorgeous are all these pieces!!?!

i have seen one such chair like this in real life at an antique store near my house, and let me tell you it was probably even better than the pictures. if you live in houston, be sure to check out installation antiques on 22nd street in the heights. its absolutely wonderful, aesthetically pleasing to the eye and full of wonderful pieces. at the very least, its worth just a walk through (the prices are a little out of my range). the owner has such a way of vignetting and the custom furniture will make you wish you took a welding class instead of astronomy freshman year of college.
