Welcome!

morning coffee and antiquing

my dear, wonderful, talented, beautiful friend ms. kelli came to visit me this past weekend. it was a short day trip to houston, but so worth it. we attempted some garage sale shopping (without much luck), ate some delicious food, thrift store shopped a bit and of course hit up some antique stores. One antique store in particular tickled my fancy. ADKINS ARCHITECTURAL ANTIQUES. If any of you are in the Houston area and are looking for antiques or, even better, looking to waste time this is your place. I wish i had brought my camera with me so i could show you how amazing it was. (however, i have a feeling i will be going there more often in my future and will remember my camera then...). Here are a few pictures from the weekend and our shopping excursion.

these first few are from me piddling around in the house waiting for kelli to arrive, its nice to have our space back (for awhile) and not completely covered in sawdust...

this is one of the door knobs i picked up at adkins. they had a room just full of old knobs, door handles, hundreds of back plates hanging from hooks...as ornate or simple as you could want, and all of them have been preserved from an old house. they literally have anything you would want for a door...this was definitely a better option than what i had originially purchased from Fergusons.
