Welcome!

and the demolition begins...

we have officially begun the home remodel project that we have been talking about for almost half a year. day 1 of construction was yesterday. i had no idea how far they were going to get, nor was i ready for the amount of much sawdust, dirt, plastic wrap and tejano music that would greet me when i got home yesterday.

kyle and i are cramped in the guest bedroom at the front of the house with all of our clothes, the the dogs, a sofa, blow up mattress, desk and music gear....ie we are sardines. right now its still fun and new but ask me again in a few more weeks and i'm sure the new living situation will have lost its sense of adventure. however, i am still very excited to finally get this project on the ground and moving.

so far we have demoed the outside patio (they took this apart in less than 20 minutes, it only took us 3 MONTHS to build...hows that for sturdy construction...hhaha).

(at least we were able to save the stone! to be used for future patio living)

and to top it off we get to live with a giant sandbox in the backyard for a few months as well. good thing its supposed to rain every day this week. this should help with the dirt situation. NOT REALLY!

pile of yucca that kitty used as his jungle. ive hated it for all this time but as they were cutting it down i was sad to see it go. i'm randomly nostalgic

they have also started in on the kitchen, knocking down the wall between the living area and the kitchen to create a little bar. DSC_0056

they also cut to holes for future doorways...they had a busy day.

the opening to the right will be a hallway closet.

can't wait to go home today to see what they've done!
