Welcome!

babies babies babies

ok this is a wordy entry, let me warn you, but i think its worth the read...

seems like everyone i know these days is getting knocked up, i guess its just that time in my life, or maybe there is something in the water (i hate this phrase by the way, i'm not sure why i just used it. it makes me think there are millions of sperm floating around in our water systems and women are just drinking glassfuls of it, gross...and yes i do know that you can't get pregs by drinking semen, its just what i envision)...so anyway, the blogworld has also been affected by this baby syndrome...

it started with the sweet and always lovely Joanna Goddard of Cup of Joe announcing that she got pregnant during their ubber romantic honeymoon in greece...i mean who wouldnt get it on while in santorini? the place seems to be full of baby making atmospheres....she looks so cute right now with her tiny little bump.

then there was Jenny from Little Green Notebook and her beautiful tale of the perfect and almost holy-like accidental home birth on Christmas Eve. we should all be so lucky, and to top it off, her dad, who just happens to be an OBGYN, was there with her and delivered the wee babe, so i mean its basically like jesus kissed them on the head that day. So she may have ruined her ottoman during the whole ordeal, since she gave birth on it, but shes such a DIY-er i'm sure she'll make something equally as cute to replace it. ottoman - 1; jenny - 1,000,000.

this was then quickly rebuttled by Jenny's (of My Favorite and My Best ) compelling and graphic play-by-play of the birth of her daughter five years ago. Let me tell you she didn't leave a thing out...the term "4th degree tear" is permanently implanted in my brain. i had no idea there were degrees of tears. anyway, if any of you havent been to her site yet i HIGHLY suggest you go there, it will change your life. well maybe it won't change it but it'll make you laugh. she uses profanity in the most efficient manner and i can't help but read even her most wordy of posts (which is rare for me, i usually skip over the word part of most posts, probably what most of you are doing right now) but she entertains me from start to finish. genius little lady if you ask me. plus she has a girl crush on kristin stewart which i can't help but admit that i do too. i seem to be one of the only people that thought adventureland was that good.

so then to continue, Bliss just announced that she is also expecting. and for anyone else who finds themself in a baby situation, she has the cutest post of baby items, she has such a good eye for pretty things.

then, well they aren't necessarily expecting, but Pacing the Panic Room has started a new maturnity series with one of their friends. i expect it will be as equally adorable as his wife's series' and since the photos of this one are being sponsored and clothed by Isabella Oliver, i'm sure we will all be jealously wishing we were all tall, blonde, yoga teachers who could look this cute on normal day.

lastly,to tie it all together and get to the point of it all, i too have joined the troops. yes, i am with child as well. i look forward to seeing the baby items these girls post so i can get inspiration for decorating and clothing our little one. for example, i made my first official baby-room purchase the other day thanks to Little Green Notebook. Its a vintage science poster showing diagrams of various buds and trees. its huge and has great muted colors and kyle is in landscaping so i thought it was appropriate.

so let us raise our glasses of non-alcoholic beverages together and make a toast for happy and healthy pregnancies for everyone. And also that ikea doesn't run out of any baby items you might need because their restocking time is ridiculous. i have been waiting for the white lack shelf for 3 months. i mean, that is as standard as ikea comes, i can't believe they would run out of it.
