believe it or not, we are still up to our elbows in satsumas. i have brought bucketfuls up to my office multiple times and kyle and i eat 4 or 5 a day but i feel like we've hardly made a dent. well, after visiting with my family on thanksgiving, my pawpaw, who grows the best and sweetest satsumas i have ever tried, told me to juice them. what a brilliant idea! so juice them i did. the juice is good, not nearly as good as pawpaws, but its so neat to have fresh squeezed juice from your own fruit! here are a few photos of the whole shebang.
behold, the satsuma
the satsuma plunges to its death
mmmmmm juice
skins...i probably should have saved these and made potpourri or something. oh well, just another idea for another year
the ritualistic pouring of the juice into the jar.

mmm frothy, pulpy juice
i literally had to peel about 40 satsumas to get this much juice. which is why this is such a good idea, i could probably fill at least 5 more jars.
what a handsome male model :)
