Welcome!

ch ch ch ch changes

we've been hard at work this weekend. lots of little tweaks happening in the cox household and it feels so good.

so for starters, we changed out the disgusting, late-1980s grandma inspired ceiling fan that had served as an eye sore in our living room for the past 2 years. the nagging question is why in the world has it taken us so long to do this?
presto

change-o

ahh what bliss. and such an easy thing to do. (please disregard the hideous entryway dangle, in this photo above it may look like a simple pendant but in reality it is the most generic and horrible fixture that hangs too low and is too bulky for our house. not to mention its so ugly, have i said that yet? what i'm waiting for is the courage to install recessed lighting myself). but back to the point, the mini track lighting is so refreshing. the corners of the room are better lit and its so clean and fits the room so much better. the man is still not sold on the "no ceiling fan in Texas" thing so i'm on the lookout for a simple floor fan that i can hide somewhere for the hotter days.

also, take a look at these window treatments would ya...

here is a good example of what they looked like before...standard old metal blinds probably original with the house in 1920... (also did i mention that we have finally pulled up the carpet in the guest room!!! look at the master of the house so hard at work...more on that later

and after!

so much better! again, why didnt we do this earlier?!

whew
